Now, the reports have it that she may play the role of Sonam Kapoor’s mother in Anil Kapoor’s remake of the Hollywood film, ‘Freaky Friday’. The film revolves around a mother and daughter who magically swap roles for a day.
Bollywood actresses like Shabhana Azmi, Rekha and Kirron Kher had been previousle approached for the role but they all gave a no to the project due to date problems. Now, Madhuri is being considered for the role and if she says yes, it would fulfil Anil Kapoor’s wish which was expresses when he said that he would like to work with his former leading lady again.
Her secretary and previous manager, Rakesh Nath has said, “She has got four-five very good offers. She will definitely do another film soon, but this time we have to be very careful. I’ve worked with other actresses, but Madhuriji is Madhuriji.”
Well, some part of the story definitely seems to be true as Madhuri has tweeted, “Meeting with Anil Kapoor today. Lets see what happens….”

Katrina Kaif rocked the nation with her sexy avatar in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and especially her item song ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’. Now, the actress will be seen in a role in dire contrast to what she played in TMK. This Prakash Jha film titled ‘Satsang’ will see Kats as a woman clad in an ochre robe and in search of spirituality. This upcoming film exposes the multi-billion global religion factory in India.
Her role in Satsang is so complex that even Jha was not sure, initially, if the actress could deliver. “It would be the most challenging part of my career so far,” says Katrina.
She plays the central character in the film which is semi-autobiographical in nature and is that of a woman from the West in search of Oriental spiritualism. Katrina will be seen sans makeup for the film and will have to get informed on the intricacies of the multi-billion religious industry in India.”
Katrina is already geared up for the role and says, “Prakashji and I have discussed the part in detail. This is one film that I’ve do the most preparation for. I’m open to the challenge.”

Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘2 States’, which is going to make a big screen entry in Bollywood, has now got new hero, new director and may be a fresh heroine too! Initially, when Sajid Nadiadwala was the only producer for the film, Siddharth Anand was supposed to direct the movie with Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.
Later Saif opted out of the project and Shah Rukh entered the scene with the dual role of a lead hero as well as of a co-producer. Now, the film will be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj of Kaminey fame. When Vishal got the project, he fled to Berlin, where SRK and Priyanka was shooting for Don 2. Both of them were impressed with Vishal’s narration and agreed to be a part of the project.
However, things changed when SRK returned home in Mumbai. He went to meet Vishal and said that Priyanka will not be suitable for the role as the story demands a fresh face. The director also agreed and thus Priyanka was out of the film.
Now, they are in search of a fresh talented face, who can do justice to the role. Well, Priyanka has already done two films with King Khan so she should not mind on this decision. It will be interesting to see who becomes lucky to get an opportunity to share screen space with Shah Rukh in 2 States.

None can argue about the fact that blockbuster ‘Dabangg’ was the star at the Big Star Entertainment Awards held in Mumbai on Tuesday night as it went on to bag five major awards at the ceremony that was organized by Reliance Broadcast Network in partnership with Star Plus. The awards will be aired on Dec. 31 from 10 pm onwards at Star Plus.
The movie proudly went on to collect the awards for the best film, best director, best entertaining song, best actor and best male playback singer. The organizers said, “These are a complete people’s choice awards. Right from nominations to the final winners, the voting process has been spread across radio and online and has had India decide its favorite entertainers of 2010 as well as the decade.”
The event was glamorized by stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukherjee, Aishwarya Rai and many others. Aishwarya had all the eyes set on her as she lloked absolutely stunning draped in a sheer net blue sari accentuated with a purple velvet border. Golden strappy heels and a black clutch completed the ensemble, which dazzled onlookers when she went on stage to collect her award for the Actor of the Decade (Female).

According to a survey conducted by the British weekly newspaper, Ranbir Kapoor has bagged in the title of the Sexiest actor of Bollywood racing ahead of hunks like Hrithik Roshan and JohnAbraham. John Abraham was positioned to the second place and Hrithik fell to the third slot.
Ranbir, who secured the title with a huge margin, was obviously thrilled and stated, “If the women didn’t like me I would feel that something is going wrong, but it feels good. I do understand that the fans I have comprises mainly of women, it feels good to be wanted by so many women.”
Talking about this, the Eastern Eye editor, Asjad Nazir stated, “Usually it is a closely fought contest, where as this year there was one very clear winner. Winning by a large margin is remarkable when you consider the very high profile men who are in the list.”
Katrina wins the ‘Sexiest Asian Woman’ title for the third time in a row. After having won the title for the third time, Kat said, “I’m very happy that I have made it to the top of Eastern Eye’s list again. England is of course a very special place to me and I think it’s very sweet to be voted the sexiest by them. I just want to thank everyone for the support.”

An incident which took place yesterday night in Mumbai proved to the media that the Rishi Kapoor – Karan Johar spat which had started from Karan’s Koffee couch is far from over. According to reports in the media, Rishi Kapoor and his wife Neetu Kapoor walked out of an event after the name Karan Johar was mentioned in the questions which were asked to them by the media. The erstwhile star couple were guests at an event promoting the empowerment of women in India.
Media reports claim that Rishi Kapoor had requested the media from asking any personal questions and since they had chosen to ignore his requests, the actor too thought it better to walk out on them! Madame Tussauds is soon going to welcome another Bollywood star among his long list of wax statues and the latest one is none other than Bollywood’s ‘Greek God’ Hrithik Roshan. The museum has kept the pose and detailing about the statue secret until it is unveiled on January 20, 2011.
The grand launch of the statue will take place in London next year and Hrithik will face his wax figure. The sculptors at the museum are now giving the final touches to the Bollywood star’s wax figure. No one knows how Hrithik has posed or what he has worn for the statue. So, it will be a pleasant surprise for the Hrithik fans when the statue is unveiled.
However, Madame Tussauds has promised that it will be one of their most daring figures ever and it will not disappoint the fans of the Bollywood star.

The King Khan of Bollywood still has more to learn even after an extremely successful career spanning more than two decades. According to reports in the media, Shah Rukh Khan will learn gymnastics for his 2011 Diwali release Ra.One. It is true that SRK is known for his romantic appearances onscreen, but this time he wants to do something never seen before in his forthcoming home production Ra.One for which he is presently taking fitness lessons from physiotherapist Dr Ali Irani, the man who is known to have trained the Indian cricket team as well.
Reports from the sets of Ra.One claim that Shah Rukh Khan will not only be performing gymnastics through the course of the science fiction film, the actor will also perform some trapeze stunts for a song sequence. And the key to performing these difficult stunts is gymnastics, feels the actor. The special song sequence will have stunts, a horde of girls, a circus set and a fully clothed Shah Rukh Khan! Contrary to reports which suggested that SRK will again appear shirtless in Ra.One like he did for Om Shanti Om, director Anubhav Sinha has said in a statement to the media that Shah Rukh Khan will not remove his clothes.
Ra.One is definitely one of the most awaited releases of 2011 and with so much preparation going into the film by Shah Rukh Khan, his fans are waiting with bated breath for the film to hit the theaters.

There has been enough discussion about Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s marriage! We have come across lots of comments from both of them but none of them have given real indication about the time when they will tie the knot.
Saif has already taken the marriage vows once and is happy with two kids from his former wife Amrita Singh. So, it seems there is no hurry from his side and Kareena is also at peak of her career and is only 30 now. The hottest couple of Bollywood does not seem to be interested in tying the knot at this moment considering their career is going great these years.

Saif once made it clear that Bebo is not required to convert herself before getting married to him so there is no problem in this aspect. So, why is Kareena waiting to say yes for marriage to ‘chote nawab’? She has given enough to Bollywood and can easily continue her journey in the industry even after turning ‘choti begum’ considering the fact that Saif’s mother and sister are actresses themselves.
Saif says that he will remain committed the same way even if he is not married to Kareena but we think the lady should come out with a serious decision very soon. In 2009, Bebo was quoted saying that she would get married by 2012 with Saif and would like to have two kids! We hope she sticks to her decision.

Sameera Reddy had a triple bonanza this year on her birthday. She celebrated her birthday in Mumbai along with her most parents and she was in for a big surprise when her parents gifted a latest brand new white color BMW 5 series car. Not just that they also gifted to her a posh and exclusive deluxe flat. She of course felt wonderful. Sameera tweeted “Just landed from Chennai back to Mumbai. Good to be back home for my birthday.” About working with Prabhu Deva, the actress tweeted “He is such an awesome director. He insisted I be home with family today. My mom and dad are thrilled.”

Fardeen Khan was born to actor turned director Feroz Khan and Sundari. He is the nephew of actor Sanjay Khan and cousin of Suzanne Khan and Zayed Khan. Khan is also the brother-In-Law of Hrithik Roshan and son-In-law of Mumtaz, a Bollywood actress of 1960s.
He was schooled at Jamnabai Narsee in Juhu. He did his graduation in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts, USA. He also trained at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Acting Institute.

The news obviously did not go down well with the actress who retorted back saying, “Quite shocked to see India Today carrying an article on me appearing on Maxim in a bikini!! Yeah right,” Sonakshi wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
“These guys generally have their facts and figures right! Got the fact that I’m on Maxim right, but the figure (pun intended) completely wrong! Would’ve been smart if they checked out the magazine before writing whatever they felt like. It’s not about me anymore but about their credibility,” she added.

Vidya Balan is known for the ease and poise with which she plays various complex characters but the role she is set to play in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’ is such which not many Bollywood babes would dare to play. She will be seen as a six motnhs pregnant woman with a belly in the entire film. In the flick, Vidya’s husband travels from London to India for work. However, he goes missing and she comes to Kolkata in search of him. Shot in Kolkata and London the film will be out some time mid 2011 and the Kolkata schedule of the flick has already been wrapped up.
Says Sujoy, “It’s the story of a woman who’s six months pregnant and her journey. I had written the script keeping Vidya in mind. I wouldn’t have made the film without her. For me she’s a perfectionist who has beautifully brought the character alive.”
He adds, “She made it look so effortless. She never compromised on any aspect of filmmaking. Since cinema is a visual medium it was very important for her to look the part. There is lot of simplicity in her character and at the same time great turmoil within.
Also there were boundaries because a pregnant woman isn’t Batman or Superman. She can’t do much, there’s only so much you can make her do. But the beauty lies in the vulnerability and subtle nuances that she’s used to play the character.”

Trainer Yasmin Karachiwala, who has her fitness centre in Bandra, has already taken Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan, and Karisma Kapur under her grueling workouts. Now, it is Sonakshi Sinha’s turn to take the hard training session from her in order to look fit for Shirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’.  The movie has Akshay Kumar as her co-star and goes on the floors early 2011. Her role demands a fit and toned body.
Sonakshi says, “I heard about Yasmin from a friend and was tired of doing the same old workout, so I made the switch! She’s very good and I’m enjoying my workout, feeling and looking better! It’s good to be fit and Yasmin is helping me achieve exactly that!”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been the brand ambassador of Longines for 11 years and she recently walked down the ramp in a Gauri and Nainika Karan designed blue gown at Taj Palace hotel for the promotion of Longines Dolce Vita watch collection.
Ash shared her experience of shooting the ad in Rome along with Kate Winslet and Chi Ling Lin saying, ” I had a great time shooting for the Dolce Vita commercial with Kate Winslet and [ Taiwanese model and actress] Chi Ling Lin as we’ve tried to recreate ancient Rome in modern times,” she said. She added that they had “so much fun” shooting that ” it did not seem like work at all”.
The theme of the Rome of 60s was adequately brought out in the Durbar Hall of the Taj Palace as Italian jazz numbers were performed and two dancers took the stage during the event too.
While Aishwarya flaunted the gown in rich blue the other models were clad in rich hues like burgundy, wine red, dark shades of green, black and white. However, what was more prominent was the fact that Ash looked just too happily married as the extra kilos showed on her arms and the flab on her face.

What you are going to see in 'Tees Maar Khan' is total entertainment. It is a Bollywood masala movie which will appeal to everyone,'' said the actor. The film is due for release next week.

In the film, directed by Farah Khan and jointly produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna, Akshay plays a con man named Tabrez Mirza Khan, with Katrina in the role of his girlfriend Anya.

"I play the role of an uneducated con man who plans to rob a train containing 10,000 kg of antiques. The script is so good that all characters come along with me and I am conning all of them. I rob the train with their help but no one among them knows that they are helping me,'' said Akshay Kumar, rating Katrina as his favourite actress.

The actor credited Farah Khan with doing an excellent job of directing the film. "She did a great job. Because of its excellent script, the film has created new 'muhawara' (idiom) in dialogue,'' he said, reciting a few lines used in the film.

About his own role, he said, "I have been an entertainer for the past 22 years. I have done it in this film and will keep doing it in the future.''

Asked why he chooses Canada more than other countries for shooting and releasing his films, he said he has fallen in love with thsi country. "I love Canada since I did my first film here 17-18 yeas ago. I have been here hundreds of times, but every time I love coming here again. I tell people in India that if they want to see 'jannat' (heaven) on this planet, they should visit Canada,'' said the actor who is currently serving as a brand ambassador in India for the Canadian Tourism Commission.

The star, who finished shooting his first Hollywood film 'Break Away' here some time ago, said, "The film will be released in May-June. We have sold its distribution rights to Alliance Atlantis."

Shot in Toronto, the film revolves around Canada's national game ice hockey to address issues of cultural conflicts among new immigrants to this country.

Asked whether Bollywood standards were declining, he said, " No, Bollywood's standards are going up. While they used to release up to 500 prints, now these numbers are up to 2,500.''

He also expressed ignorance about his role in Deepa Mehta's proposed film "Komagata Maru". "I don't know anything about the film. Nobody has approached me.''

Asked to rate his favourite hero and heroine, he said, "I like watching Sanjeev Kumar...... and Katrina Kaif."

On the chat show Koffee With Karan, when Saif in the rapidfire round was asked to name a celeb who’s had a bad Botox job, The Chote Nawab’s instant answer was “Poor Koena (Mitra). I can’t think of any one else.”
Koena Mitra on hearing this remark, reacts to the Saif Ali Khan’s comment saying she never expected the comment from Saif. “I think it’s an act of desperation.
If it had been another actress’ comment, maybe it would have been seen in a different light. But for a guy to call out a girl’s name when talking about Botox is really sad!”
The actress, is currently in America seeking modelling and acting assignments.
She goes on to add, “Saif has definitely lost out on an admirer,”. I used to think highly of him.
He’s called a Chote Nawab (as he’s a descendant of the Nawabs of Pataudi), but after listening to what he said I feel he’s more of a ‘Gareeb Nawab’.

If I was in his place I’d give up on twenty such Koffee hampers but wouldn’t take anyone’s name on such a topic.”
When asked if she feels Saif himself has taken the aid of Botox, she says, “There are actors above 40 who have got rid of their wrinkles and other blemishes.

It’s perfectly alright to do that. I think Saif looked drastically different during Love Aaj Kal and everyone noticed the sudden change in his appearance. But it really isn’t in my interest to sit and pick on people.”
After confirming that she hasn’t resorted to Botox yet, she cheekily adds, “When I reach Saif’s age and have two grown up kids, maybe then I will dial him and ask for Botox advice.

Juhi Chawla
Innocent, sweet and bubbly Juhi Chawla was the first child born to Punjabi father Dr. S. Chawla and Gujarati mother, Mona. She has one brother named Sanjeev. She graduated from Sydenham College, Mumbai, Maharastra. She was crowned Miss India in 1984 and she won the best costume award in the Miss Universe contest that year.
From beauty contests, she moved into film - with her movie debut being “Sultanat” in 1986. The film was not a huge success at the box office. Her next project was the Kannada film “Permaloka” which was a superhit. Her next Bollywood appearance was the superhit film “Quayamat Se Quayamat Tak” where she starred next to Aamir Khan. The pair went on to be one of the most successful on screen couples industry has ever seen.
The next few films were not very successful for Juhi. Love Love Love, Goonj, Kaafila, Swarg all bombed at the box office, but Juhi Chawla hit the hotspot with Dharmesh Darshan’s “Lootere”. A song on the beach in just a plain white shirt was enough for her to be labeled hot.
Her second innings in Bollywood started with a series of hits starting with “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman” in 1992 followed by “Bol Radha Bol” (1992) and “Lootere” in 1993. The first movie by the production house was “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani” released in 2000. Her best performances between the period 1997 and 2002 included “Ishq” and “Arjun Pandit”.
Recent years have not been that successful for Juhi and her career seems to be on a low. Lately she starred in “My Brother Nikhil” in 2005 which was not commercially successful but critically acclaimed, “Bas Ek Pal” (2006), Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) etc. Her forthcoming releases include “Swami” and “Bhoothnath” both of which are set to be released in 2007.
Juhi is married to the famous industrialist Jai Mehta. She gave birth to her first child, a girl, on February 21, 2001. Her daughter’s name is Jhanvi. Chawla later gave birth to a son called Arjun.

Madhuri Dixit (Nene)
Born on 15th May 1967, Madhuri Dixit is the Marlyn Monroe of Bollywood. This beauty of Bollywood is full of talent with great acting skills, charms and dancing abilities. She is considered to be one of the best Bollywood has ever seen. She has stolen the hearts of everyone of all ages Be it young college students or famous painters like M.F. Hussain her charm has enticed all.
She made her acting debut in “Abodh” in 1986. The film was a box-office disaster and failed miserably. The future looked dim for this diva when this was followed by other flops like Aawara Baap, Swati, Hifazat etc. The year 1988 was the turning point in her career when she was re-launched by Subhash Ghai in the legendary hit. This was followed by Dayavaan and Tezaab. She starred next to Vinod Khanna in the former and the dashing Anil Kapoor in the latter. Dil was followed by “100 Days” and “Saajan” in 1991 which were huge success at the box office and established Madhuri Dixit as the crown princess of Bollywood. Then came Indra Kumar’s “Beta” in 1992 which again was one of the biggest box office hits. The film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Her sensuous dance number in Dhak Dhak karne laga established her as the ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl who stole the hearts of millions.
Her famous item number ‘Choli ke Peeche’ in Khalnayak in 1993 placed her in the centre of a huge controversy and again brought her in the spotlight. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the same movie. 1994 was perhaps the best year in the career of Madhuri with two of her biggest hits “Anjaam” and “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” releasing that year. While her role in Anjaam, where she played a vengeful damsel, was greatly applauded by the critics, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun recorded the single greatest hit ever breaking the record of Sholay. The film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the 3rd time.
Indra Kumar’s “Raja” (1995) was another one of her hits. Though the film had many flaws her role won the critics recognition. Unfortunately after that had been downhill for Madhuri with a series of flops like Prem Granth, Koyla, Mrityudand etc. Critics commented that it was time for Madhuri to pack her bags and leave the industry but then came her performances in Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) which once again who her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. She once again starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Devdas” in 2002. The film was commercially successful and she proved once again that she has neither lost her acting talents nor her dancing skills.
After her marriage in 1999 films have moved down the priority list for Madhuri and she is devoting more time to her personal life taking care of her two sons Arin and Ryan. She is though starring in a few films the most recent in line being ‘Aaja Nach Le’. Let us hope that we get to see more of this dashing diva of Bollywood.

FIZA is the story of a young girl (Karisma Kapoor) in search of her brother (Hrithik Roshan) who disappeared during the communal riots of 1992-93 in Mumbai.
After making every effort to trace him, Fiza sets out in the first half of the film to determine whether Amaan is dead or alive. Using various methods — be it through the media, politicians or the law enforcement agencies — Fiza embarks on her mission that brings her into contact with various characters and situations. The second half of the film takes a turn and focuses on Amaan’s difficulty in coping with re-integration back into his old world.

Karisma and her hubby Sanjay Kapur had tied the knot to a troubled relationship in 2003. All the initial reports of a split between the two died down long ago, but the new reports suggest that Karisma might be filing for divorce rather very soon. This is all due to Sanjay’s womanizing nature.

It has not been an easy task for Rohan Sippy to get permission from Dev Anand to remake his superhit song ‘Dum Maro Dum’. The makers were considering Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra to spice up the item number. However, it was Deepika who landed up with the number and according to the inside reports, she will be seen in a very sensational avatar with a proper item girl tag. She has already been seen in an item number “Love Mera Hit Hit” in SRK’s ‘Billu Barber’. The song will have a urban and contemporary feel and has been remixed by Pritam.
‘Dum Maro Dum’ stars Abhishek Bachchan, Rana Daggubatti and Bipasha Basu and is slated for a 22nd April release in 2011.

Akshay Kumar gets to romance a younger actress again; this time it’s model-turned-actress Anushka Sharma.
In the film Patiala House, Akshay plays an aspiring cricketer Parghat Singh Kahlon and Anushka is his ladylove Simran.
In the film you will get to see Akshay as a simple guy who is trying to make his dream of being a cricketer come true. Anushka, true to her image, gets to play a girl-next-door, but not only does she look simple, but also modern. In the movie, Akki runs a shop but wants to play cricket. Though his father, played by Rishi Kapoor, is strictly against his aspirations, he triumphs in the end. The movie is based in London and narrates the story of a traditional Sikh family settled there.
Will the chemistry between Akshay and Anushka appeal to the audience? The duo is coming together for the first time; check them out in Patiala House as they get jiggy, romance and laugh together.
